Proposition 1 (SJR 59)

Helps improve trade schools and technical colleges by paying for buildings and upgrades through state education funds.

✅ Yes

Give more funding and money to improve secondary education.

Proposition 2 (SJR 18)

Stops Texas from EVER creating a tax on capital gains (like stocks, properties, etc) even if you haven't sold them yet.

❌ No

It limits future economic changes and mostly benefits the wealthy.

Proposition 3 (SJR 5)

Allows judges to keep people in jail before trial for certain accused serious violent crimes like murder or sexual offenses if they think the person is dangerous.

❌ No

This undermines due process for the accused.

Proposition 4 (HJR 7)

Sets aside sales tax revenue for water projects through the new Texas Water Fund.

✅ Yes

Helps improve and provides funding for long term and essential investments for water systems.

Proposition 5 (HJR 99)

Allows businesses that sell animal feed get a property tax break by allowing the legislature to stop charging property taxes on animal feed.

This amendment is redundant because Texas laws already give primary authority to parents over their children’s lives.

Proposition 16 (SJR 37)

Adds to the Texas Constitution that only U.S. citizens can vote in Texas elections (already a law).

Proposition 17 (HJR 34)

Gives tax breaks to landowners owners near the Mexico border who build border infrastructure like fencing.
